Daniel Rozin

Daniel Rozin is an interactive artist who acts as an educator and developer in his field. Creating a series of installations and sculptures which respond and adapt in response to the behaviour of the person viewing them, his project 'Angles Mirror' is absolutely fascinating. Rejecting the idea of building a picture based on relative lightness and darkness, Rozin explores a system of linear rotation that indicates the direction of an object’s contour. Not completely unlike a household mirror, the 'Angles Mirror' is a wall-mounted sculpture. A steel triangular object dotted with yellow indicator arms that pivot, the structure favours the patterns and angles found in an equilateral triangle.

The negative space surrounding a viewer is then translated into horizontal lines. Rather than creating a complete reflection of its object, the three-dimensional movement of a figure is represented.

It is this ability to react and interact with its environment which makes the project so intruiguing. Changing in synchronisation with the actions of the viewer, one is constantly drawn back to inspect from a closer angle. Of course however, once you get there, the picture will never be the same.
