adidas Originals x 424 | 50 Years of the adidas Originals Superstar
adidas Originals and premier streetwear label 424 have returned for their highly anticipated second collaboration. This time the fusion of the two brands sees a selection of footwear and apparel including the 424 Superstar, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic adidas Originals Superstar. Maintaining the signature vintage shape and style, the adidas Originals x 424 Superstar has all the elements of the classic sneaker while simultaneously integrating the 424 stamp.
The first collaboration between LA based 424 and adidas Originals saw stripped back versions of two adidas Originals classics, the SC Premiere and Pro Model 80's. Founder and Lead Designer at 424, Guillermo Andrade sought to translate the brands streetwear aesthetic into the selection of sneakers while maintaining adidas Originals' unmistakable sporting heritage.
This season see’s Lead Designer of 424 Guillermo, take the same approach with both the sneaker offering as well as the expanded range of adidas Originals x 424 clothing. The collection offers us a variety of ready-to-wear apparel, including tailored and track pants, hoodies, t-shirts and accessories which blends Guillermo’s love of sport, streetwear fashion and self-expression. The two key looks are built around two contrasting colourways: a sportier inspired black and red, showing us strong 80’s hip hop influences, and a smarter casual mix of grey checks in more tailored pieces.
