Copenhagen Fashion Week: Baum und Pferdgarten AW17

baum und pferdgarten aw17 pale pink

If there's one brand that knows how to mix things up a bit, it's Baum und Pferdgarten. The Danish brand, hailing from founders Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave, has been clashing prints, mixing textures and experimenting with colour combinations since 1999 - and it works. The brand has built up a cult following in Scandinavia and around the world, its unique designs and styling instantly recognisable and coveted.

The label's SS17 collection was all about pink, and this seems to be carrying on with Baum und Pferdgarten AW17 - as seen in pale pink fluffy coats and jackets worn over denim or red PVC midi skirts. It came slightly darker too - almost purple - used in mid-length lace dresses (pulled in at the waist with eyelet-punched belts), frilly shirts, pleated skirts and knitwear tucked into black PVC mini skirts.

The prints were out in full force too, from checkerboard trousers that looked like fashion's answer to the classic chef pant, to cold shoulder gingham dresses and leopard print coats with dark orange cuffs. There were a couple of trends that were tapped into in Baum und Pferdgarten's AW17 collection too; military meets sports luxe (oversized bomber jackets), logo mania (applique t-shirts) PVC (everything from shirts and skirts to dresses and jackets) and collegiate ('BP' sewn on scarves and jackets).
