COLOUR PALETTE

In true Scandinavian style, the runways of Copenhagen Fashion Week SS20 were alight with every colour under the sun, with a particular set of stand out pastel shades. We saw bursts of lilac and green at Ganni and Stand, yellow, white and cream throughout Cecilie Bahnsen, Holzweiler, Munthe and Henrik Vibskov and some neutral earthy sandy brown tones throughout Saks Potts. Blush pinks were also a colour to note, seen at Mark, Kenly Domino Tan and Munthe.

PUFF SLEEVES

A trend that has transitioned through the seasons is the puffed sleeve. Creating feminine silhouettes, the puffed sleeve was seen at a variety of shows in dresses and tops, noticeably at Cecilie Bahnsen whose SS20 collection had us swooning over every look.

FABRICS

LEATHER

Leather might not be your first thought when it comes to the composition of your SS20 wardrobe, however Saks Potts, Ganni and Stand to name a few were flying the flag for summertime leather. Styled with knee high boots and sunglasses, leather was a consistent theme on the runway.

SEERSUCKER

A summertime favourite, seersucker is the ultimate fabric for warmer temperatures. Allowing your skin to breathe, seersucker not only looks great but it's lightweight properties will leave you feeling cool. Holzweiler and Cecilie Bahnsen were particularly fond of seersucker in their SS20 collections.

SHEER

Sheer organza was seen throughout Copenhagen Fashion Week SS20, in both ready-to-wear and accessories. Taking a spin on the bucket hat Baum and Pferdgarten styled outfits with sheer versions of the head wear and Cecilie Bahnsen created delicate two piece suits with the material.

PRINTS

SNAKESKIN

Move over leopard print, SS20 is all about snakeskin. A very prominent print on the runway, snakeskin was presented in bright pops of colour and seen on dresses, boots and jackets at Ganni, Saks Potts and Stand to name a few.

CHECK

Larger check prints in a more typical spring colour palette of yellows, creams and browns were seen on a plethora of runways in jackets and trousers. Easy to wear, checks are flattering for all and add a certain sophistication to any outfit.

POLKA DOTS

In a revival of the 80's, Copenhagen Fashion Week threw some vintage style 80's polka dots our way. Stine Goya chose to embrace the polka dot clash with a variety of tights, tops and dresses whilst Saks Potts integrated a red polka dot print throughout a select pieces in the collection including a bikini and ruffled crop top.

STYLING

UTILITARIAN WORKWEAR

The structured shapes and tailored aesthetic of the utilitarian workwear trend has been a big hit on the runways for a long time. The versatile style allows you to add a distinctive edge to your outfit and can be translated into feminine looks with ease. Cecilie Bahnsen and Holzweiler were particular fans of the trend in their SS20 collections.

PRINT CLASHING

And last, but by very no means least, a trend that was seen on almost every runway show at CFW SS20 was the print clash. Not to everyone's taste, some would describe it as a fashion faux pas but not Copenhagen's finest designers. Floral with paisley prints, and checks with pinstripes the runway was rife with print clashes. Stand, Munthe and Ganni were among the designers embracing the trend.
