London Fashion Week: Aspinal of London SS16
The Aspinal of London SS16 collection took us to a tranquil English garden – the perfect set up for such a quintessentially British brand. Afternoon tea was served in dainty cups and saucers, complete with champagne, Victoria sponge and butterfly-shaped biscuits.
The new collection of handbags was rested on grassy mounds in the space on Brown Hart Gardens, with the garden theme prevalent throughout in the use of bright floral prints. Bright orange was a standout colour in the collection, used in everything from sleek to bucket bags to floral and butterfly-print clutches, Mini Hepburn Bags and Marylebone Totes.
The classic Aspinal of London Essential Tote Bags, Marylebone Totes and Mini Trunk Clutches all made an appearance; updated for Spring/Summer in tonal matte and patent stripes, leopard print pony hair, brown croc print and fresh whites.
The men’s offering was equally as impressive, with that same croc print seen in the Mount Street and Doctors Bags, and suede adding texture to satchels. Deep berry shades added an injection of colour to the men’s collection, resulting in rich, sleek holdalls and document cases.
