London Fashion Week: Markus Lupfer AW15
For SS15, Markus Lupfer brought California to London, with his collection taking inspiration from surfers and long summers spent at the beach. This season he took a different route, taking us through a journey of enchanted forests and fairytale woodlands. Carrots, plants, flowers and even soft white bunnies in Perspex bowls, were suspended from the ceiling, creating the perfect backdrop to his AW15 collection.
Dark green botanical motifs and jacquard prints composed of gnomes, fawns and squirrels, paid homage to the forest theme, as did the Markus Lupfer for Linda Farrow multi-coloured daisy sunglasses.
The presentation took place at Westminster’s Carlton House Terrace, with its luxe and opulent surroundings echoed in the collection through sparkly skirts and knitwear bejewelled in geometric shapes. Glittery trainers, knitted beanies and sporty bomber jackets, meanwhile, added a boyish, relaxed aesthetic.
Masculine lines showed the Markus Lupfer girl with a toughness and sense of adventure, dressed for the outdoors in high neck jumpers and printed parkas, while the use of gold and silver prints added a fun, girly element.
