London Fashion Week Men’s: Oliver Spencer AW17
The Oliver Spencer AW17 collection was a mix of smart and casual, soft and tough, and luxury and street-ready. It was, essentially, Spencer's take on modern day menswear, where textures are mixed, prints are experimented with and individual pieces are worn in an individual way.
Checked woollen trousers were worn with maroon and white striped tees, leather gave a contemporary spin to thick knitwear, woollen blazers were paired with corduroy wide legged trousers and bomber jackets were updated in smooth velvet. This mix worked though, thanks in part to Oliver Spencer's classic cuts (his signature cropped trousers and roll neck jumpers made an appearance throughout) and muted colour palette of burnt orange, forest green, powder pink and soft grey.
The twists didn't stop at the clothing either. While classic leather totes and large umbrellas (a staple for the British gent) were paired with most looks, the backpack took on another form this season, allowing it to turn - ever-so-practically - into a parka coat for the wearer, should he require an extra layer.
