London Fashion Week: Versus Versace SS16
In a London basement on the second night of London Fashion Week, the Versus Versace SS16 collection was debuted in front of an eagerly-anticipating audience, with Anthony Vaccarello breathing new life into the brand once again.
This was a collection that had all the details of Versace – lion head medallions, oozes of sex appeal and extreme cut out shapes that only leggy models can ever really pull off – but it also had Vaccarello’s personality injected into it; most notably the use of all-black.
Tailored blazers were worn on top of skin-tight zipped up tops that added a sports luxe element; leather bomber jackets came paired with leather miniskirts; and dresses came pinned, cut-out and draped. The most dramatic elements to the show were the plunging maxi dresses cut right to the top of the thigh in monochrome leopard print, dark florals and slinky, simple black.
