Made in Italy | Top Five Italian Designer Brands

Italian design has long been known for it's quality craftsmanship and design. Spotting the 'Made in Italy' stamp only confirms that a piece has passed through the hands of talented design teams. Alongside the likes of Paris, London and New York, Italy is of course home to one of the key players of Fashion Month, the sophisticated and stylish Milan. Home to a plethora of luxury designers including Gucci, Fendi and Versace, our top five Italian designer brands couldn't be in better company.

#1 Diemme

A brand celebrating all that is the hiker boot is Italian made Diemme.The hiker boot trend sky rocketed in popularity in 2019, seen on runways and on the feet of some of the most influential in fashion. The brand stands out from a crowded market for their durability, progressive designs and quality composition. All Diemme boots are manufactured in a small Northeastern town that is well known for its rich heritage of producing the best in performance footwear so you can be sure you're making the right choice. #2 Missoni

A label famed for their luxury knitwear, Missoni has been presenting their collections of colourful knits since 1953. Based in Varese, the brand was founded by husband and wife duo Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, later to be taken over by daughter Angela in the late 90's while her mother focused on Missoni Home. The brand has an impeccable reputation when it comes to quality composition and continues to push the boundaries when it comes to design and construction. Not only are their own collections a sell out but they hold precedence in our Italian designer brands for their collaborations too. The limited edition collection with Adidas saw Missoni redesign the iconic Ultraboost sneaker with its space-dye pattern and was an instant hit with sneaker enthusiasts across the globe.

#3 Golden Goose Deluxe Brand

When it comes to designer sneakers, it doesn't get much more luxury than Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. The premium leather trainers have been on the scene since the millennium with their headquarters based in picturesque Venice. The luxury Italian designer brand offers a collection of ready to wear, footwear and accessories in their modern style with a vintage twist. Infused with founders Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo's artistic Venetian flair each piece is branded with the signature star motif and stylishly scuffed for a quirky edge.

#4 Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini

With a long list of celebrity fans including Dua Lipa, Naomi Scott and Lady Amelia Windsor, womenswear label Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini's beautiful designs celebrate femininity through a mix of delicate details and luxury fabrics. A runway favourite, the brand was founded in 1984 and relaunched in 2014 under the creative lens of Lorenzo Serafini taking a more contemporary take on collections. Each piece exudes elegance with it's romantic aesthetic, and allows the wearer to style their ready-to-wear collections for both formal and casual occasions.

#5 C.P. Company

Number five on the list of our favourite Italian designer brands, is contemporary menswear brand C.P. Company. Founded in 1971 by Massimo Osti, the company's life started under the name Chester Perry brand. After 7 years, the company became C.P. Company after legal action was taken by British brands Chester Barry and Fred Perry for the use of their first and last name. The brand's functional ready-to-wear collections continue to embody a hybrid of their military inspired shapes and details combined with innovative Italian quality fabrics.  The luxury label was the first to develop garment dying strategies in the mid 70's, whereby fully-finished pieces made from various fabrics are dyed as a final step, giving a unique chromatic finish. The goggle detail on C.P. Company's ready-to-wear collections make their jackets and hoodies unmistakable.
