How to Master the Pink Trend
One of Spring/Summer '17's biggest trends? Pink; the dusky, subtle, pastel kind. No longer is pink reserved solely for girls under the age of 10, pre-teen lip gloss or the association with the too-soft, not to be taken seriously. Pink is unashamedly strong, standing up to its naysayers by celebrating its unique shade and facing the stereotype it's too often branded with head on. It's now an all-encompassing colour, worn by women of all ages, by men, and has a firm place in your home too. There's no need to shy away from the colour this season; here's how to master the pink trend.
As the old adage goes, real men wear pink. It was seen on the catwalks at Gucci, Haider Ackerman and YMC, with relaxed tailoring one of the key looks for the colour. Wear a simple t-shirt under a navy suit with clean trainers, sweatshirt with khaki trousers or choose a hint of the colour with light pink footwear. Shop the men's pink edit here.
Dusky pink dominated the collections at London Fashion Week SS17, with Paul Smith and John Smedley leading the way with head-to-toe looks. Mix shades, textures, shapes and lengths to give the shade a grown-up feel and don't be afraid to wear a look made up completely of pink pieces. Shop the women's pink edit here.
After Pantone named Rose Quartz a part of its colour of the year in 2016, dusky pink has been embraced in interiors like never before. It's a trend that's set to continue throughout 2017 too, with Broste Copenhagen and LSA creating some of the best pieces this season. Use it as an accent colour to give your homeware longevity, pairing with gold and brass tones, and light greys. Shop the homeware pink edit here.
