Rejina Pyo SS19 Show Report
A moment of beautiful chaos
Capturing the spirit of freedom and imagination with her SS19 collection, an essence of discovery and exploration was immediately recognisable at Rejina Pyo. Opening our eyes to the influence individual style has on our worldly experience, the collection conveyed nostalgic references to a time when experimenting was vital to forming our own opinions.
Embracing playful independence, femininity and strength, the collection once again offer a decisively brave colour palette. Bold custom prints, clashes of stripes, checks and textured materials reflect the inspiration taken from artists such as Mark Rothko and Angela de la Cruz; whereby the fusion of unexpected colours and materials create new forms of style, elegance and opportunity.
Pops of sky blue, sherbet green and vibrant orange were styled alongside a neutral palette accented with elegant feathering, floral sheer mesh and tonal PVC.
Expanding upon her already distinctive footwear range, RejinaPyo aligns her new styles with updates on previous designs such as the hand carved sculptured heels, offering elegant uppers in trend-led textures of croc and lizard embossed leather. This season sees the introduction of a new handbag collection utilising uniquely crafted leather and fabric styles reminiscent of the beauty of sculptural form.
In collaboration with Projekt Produkt, Pyo’s SS19 promotes a distinct eyewear collection styled to represent influencer of our past, present and future. Adapting iconic shapes, the eyewear collection is obscured with contemporary twists, innovative finishes and vibrant colours to accompany the ready-to-wear.
New to Rejina Pyo’s portfolio is an eagerly awaited jewellery collection. Merging vintage craftsmanship and modern sculptural influence, the range presents delicately hand painted gold and silver pieces decorated in eye catching enamel. A collection even the subtlest of dressers won’t be able to resist.
