A Closer Look at the Grey Trend

Over the past few years, grey has been used more and more in the home, becoming a stylish colour rather than one that is deemed dull and cold. From minimal graphic interiors to rustic and country-inspired, grey can work with most styles, but looks best when used in an industrial setting – think raw concrete and exposed metal.

Grey walls are a subtle way of working the trend, whether it’s used as the main or the accent colour. Use soft greys all over as an alternative to white, and limit dark greys to one or two walls to prevent it from being overbearing.

The grey trend looks best when balanced with neutral colours and materials; white, bare wood and black work really well with grey, as do copper and light tan. Adding simple plants into the space will break up the palette and bring warmth to the room.
