Inside a Modern, Classic Parisian Apartment
Facing the Eiffel Tower in the heart of Paris’s Trocadéro, this Parisian apartment marries classic French décor with sleek and modern design features to create a unique and contemporary space.
Designed by French firm Rodolphe Parente, original features – mouldings, coffered ceilings – have been kept intact to both respect and celebrate the apartment’s rich heritage and intricate design. Walls are white (or light grey in the study), moving these traditional features away from the overly-opulent into a space that’s clean and modern.
It’s the choice of furnishings, though, that bring this apartment into the 21st century. The kitchen is both minimal and eccentric, with clean, angular marble and brass islands and parquet flooring, while contemporary art pieces are given pride of place. The living room uses a mixture of texture and grey and gold shades to add depth to the large, open space, while the use of light pink and grey in the study adds a real injection of personality to the home.
The best part of this Parisian apartment is quite possibly the bedroom, which features a marble bathroom accessible through the large walk-through wardrobe. Tying in the use of grey and brass found in the rest of the home, this room is stylish, effortless and has a touch of the mid-century.
