CERVO, Zermatt
Sitting just above the village of Zermatt, CERVO is a luxury boutique resort where guests can ski right up to the entrance. The hotel is proud of its location, heritage and local traditions but by no means is it a stuffy lodge stuck in the past.
In 2009, Daniel Lauber turned his family-owned ski chalet into a 36-room hotel. Dating back to the 1950s, the building still retains its original wooden floor but neutral colours, clean lines and sleek, minimal designs bring this hotel right up the present day. The resort also features five newly-built chalets, each with its own spa and unforgettable views of the Matterhorn.
The resort also boasts two restaurants; CERVO Puro (which has 14 Gault-Millau points) and The Ferdinand, a traditional Alpine restaurant with some of the best fondue in all of Switzerland. Don’t forget the all-important après-ski either, with tapas and drinks served on the large sun terrace.
