Built in 1909 by local Cotswolds craftsmen and designed by architect Joseph Lancaster Ball, the house itself is steeped in history and surrounded by 400 acres of private grounds. The interior is respectfully renovated to perfection with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture, creating a uniquely rustic aesthetic.
Foxhill Manor isn’t your usual country house hotel, though it ticks all the boxes of rural setting, log fires and hearty food, there are also extras that take it to the next level. Take the spa for instance, located within the grounds as part of Dormy House (Foxhill’s big sister) it is an idyllic spa including infinity pool, outdoor hot tub, Finnish sauna and steam room. Guests can be whisked up to the spa at a moment’s notice, but if you don’t fancy it, they can bring the treatments to you at Foxhill. Then there is the cinema, a moderately sized screening room where guests can pull up a bean bag, grab some popcorn, pinch half a bottle of champagne from the well-stocked pantry and enjoy a film.
The food is on another level, guests meet with the chef who then derives a personalised four course menu for the evening which can be consumed wherever you fancy in the house, from the dining room to the bedroom.
