Martin Klimas
Inspired by Jackson Pollock and the depth of music, Martin Klimas has created a series of artwork depicting what music sounds like. This series was created by positioning paint in a range of bright colours across the diaphragm of the speaker, then cranking up the volume.
He has brought classic songs to life through this method, from Kraftwerk's Transistor to James Brown's Sex Machine. The effects are almost mesmirising and the thought that they were created with a simple speaker, paint and a camera without the use of computer graphics blows my mind a little.
