London Collections Men: Barbour AW15
London Collections: Men welcomed Barbour with open arms for its very first on schedule presentation. Crowds gathered in the intimate Swiss Church venue greeted with champagne, coffee and canapés to compliment the collection. The room was bordered with models showcasing the collection alongside rails of the pieces for closer inspection.
The AW15 Barbour collection plays heavily on the strengths of the brand with key, staple pieces seen alongside innovative, contemporary pieces that show a different side to Barbour, influenced by the collaboration with White Mountaineering.
Fabrics remained largely traditional with the use of tweed, twill, wool, waxed cotton and waterproofing ensuring the collection is entirely practical yet completely design orientated.
The colour palette is intrinsically Barbour; separated into stories of olive, brown and navy blue, each section utilised the shades in pattern, texture and fabric. Camouflage prints were given a new lease of life with a repeated design influenced by Japanese art, mountains and waves appear from the shapes to hark back to Barbour’s sense of adventure. Colour was added to the collection within the navy story with flecks of bright colour digitally printed, showing a more contemporary side to the brand.
Undoubtedly the first of many appearances at LCM for Barbour, we look forward to seeing more over the seasons to come.
