London Fashion Week: Le Kilt SS16
The Le Kilt SS16 collection was very different to that of AW15. While last season’s presentation took place in London’s oldest – and incredibly ornate – French restaurant, the location for this year’s collection was the basement of the 100 club, complete with dingy lighting and whisky cocktails.
Last season was all about tartan kilts with turtle necks, berets and prim-and-proper hair, giving off a smart, boarding school look. This season was all about the rebellion, with models wearing short, printed and lurex kilts and trousers with sheer black tops, blazers and cropped tops. Scuffed Converse, ‘60s-inspired sunglasses and a bored, nonchalant attitude completed their outfits, creating the kinds of looks that all those cool girls at school wore.
