London Fashion Week: Versus Versace AW17
Think of Versus Versace and think of all-black looks, thigh-high splits and slinky sex appeal. The Versus Versace AW17 collection had that, yes, but with an injection of punk attitude, hints of athleisure and grungy finishes.
The show opened with Gigi Hadid in a skintight black dress with ballooning sleeves (so far, so Versus), this season worn with black lace-up boots and a smear of black kohl above the eyes. The looks went on to encompass bigger and baggier styles - large aviator jackets layered over leather jackets and worn with cropped black trousers; leather wrap-around skirts with biker jackets; and pink puffer jackets worn slung on top of fluffy knitted dresses.
On the athleisure front there were zip-up track tops in black and blue, worn with flatforms and matching skirts; track pants worn with barely-there heels and cropped jumpers and sweater dresses covered in graphic prints.
