The New Rules of Dressing

You may have found this year a bit confusing when it comes to dressing. Your loungewear collection has probably increased tenfold and your slippers have probably had more action than your sneakers. We've learnt that pairing relaxed pieces with more styled up accessories is the ultimate way to achieve the perfect balance of comfort and style. We asked the team at Coggles for some guidance on how they are nailing the new rules of dressing, and what fashion looks like in a world where leaving the house with your face covering is as important as your wallet.

Georgia - Trading Manager

For me comfort is a big factor in my daily dressing this season but I also like to follow the latest trends. I’ll be trading my jeans for cargo style trousers like these Isabel Marant Etoileones which are super easy to style up or down. Here I’ve paired with a staple Ganni tee and a tonal Yuzefi bag. I’ll also be investing in an oversized coat to keep me cosy like this checked Isabel Marant Etoile number and a pair of Golden Goose trainers which I think are a wardrobe staple.

Dressing colourfully can really lift my mood and this knitted set from Olivia Rubin does exactly that. Not only delivering on comfort but giving my loungewear a level up on style, I’ve teamed the set with a pair of Veja sneakers for my off duty style and Danse Lente handbag to match the colour palette.

Pairing top coats and hoodies together is the easiest way to achieve the perfect balance of smart casual and street style, that’s what makes this Maison Margielacombo work so well. I’ve chosen these relaxed fit Officine Generale pants and accessorised with this Margiela crossbody bag for the finishing touch to my look.

If we’ve learnt anything this year it’s that comfort is key, but that doesn’t mean we can’t add a smart edge to our WFH looks. This Officine Generale blazer teamed with Y-3 relaxed pants and Lanvin long sleeve top creates the cool casual look that’s perfect for today. I’ve paired with these classic Margiela replica sneakers with updated reptile print.
