To give you a brief history behind the name of this jacket, British mountaineer and Everest veteran George Mallory coined the name "Fantasy Ridge" to describe what mountaineers call "the great problem" - this problem was the Kangshung Face of Everest, which is considered to be so dangerous that climbing it would be pure fantasy. Developed in 1993, the Fantasy Ridge Jacket was the most sophisticated Gore-Tex jacket of its time, and a tribute to impossible feats. This version of the jacket is a lightweight reimagining which allows it to be both affordable and functional for the warmer months of the year when it decides to rain, or blow wind or throw hail.
The shell of the jacket is water and wind resistant and is constructed in such a way that it provides an easy-wearing, ergonomic fit. It has a drawstring hood and hem as well as adjustable cuffs for a personalized fit. It harnesses The North Face's DryVent technology for amazing breathability whilst protecting you from the elements. It has a full-zip front that is strengthened with a stormflap. The lining features a mesh which is comfortable on your body and whips away sweat from your body. The jacket has a four external pockets for ample storage as well as an internal security pocket for your more precious items. A beautifully simplistic design in terms of fashion, the retro style features only two logos, both embroidered, one to the arm and one to the rear shoulder.
